Dennis Phillips, the father of a newborn son, found himself homeless and living on the streets after years of battling a severe addiction to drugs. After lots of hard work and help, hope finally came in the form of Miami-based nonprofit Carrfour Supportive Housing, which helps place homeless families into permanent affordable housing across South Florida.
Over the last five years, Carrfour has helped Dennis successfully overcome his addictions and he’s been living at the organization’s Villa Aurora community in Little Havana – and he was able to obtain full custody of his now 10-year-old son. Today, Dennis has stability in his life and is beyond proud that he can provide his son with a safe, clean place to live and grow up.
